Tingshas are small prayer chimes used by Buddhist Monks, Holistic Health Practitioners and Meditation Groups. They are often used to end a meditation, a teaching, or are used for space clearing to remove negative energies. It can be played by tapping the rims together or by clapping them like cymbals. The dissonant sound (unlike the singing bowl and prayer bells) is so penetrating it is impossible not to focus on it. The cymbal's heavy weight enhances their soothing chime. .

Zills (finger cymbals) are tiny cymbals used in belly dancing and similar performances. The word zill in Turkish means "cymbal". They are similar to Tibetan tingsha bells. A set of zils consists of four cymbals, two for each hand.Zils commonly have a diameter of about 5 cm (2 in). Accomplished dancers will often have a second — slightly larger — set for use in noisy situations.

Rainsticks are musical and ceremonial instruments used from ancient times to present day. Their name describes the soothing rain-like sound that these instruments produce. To maximize the length and evenness of the rain-like sound, hold the rainstick at about a 60 degree angle and slowly rotate the stick, allowing the tiny stones and pebbles to roll and trickle down over the thorns that have been pounded into the interior of the stick in a spiral formation. The rainstick sound is very calming, peaceful, and nurturing.
