When Emily was originally diagnosed with an enlarged heart, little did her family know just how large her heart would become. In November of 2003, Emily's wish to go to Disney World to meet Cinderella was granted. According to her family it was a magical trip that changed all of their lives. It was the first time for Emily and her little sister, Grace, to just be kids and for their family to take a real vacation and enjoy life.
This trip and seeing a TV show where another little girl raised money for the American Cancer Society from making beaded jewelry, inspired Emily to come up with the idea of selling her clay angels to raise money for two charities, the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Wisconsin and the Children's Hospital of Wisconsin. Emily speaks for these charities at functions and fundraisers with wisdom beyond her years. Since August of 2005 when Emily held her first sale, Emily has donated lots of artwork and over $8,000 from the sale of her angels. In 2005 Emily reached her goal to sponsor another child's wish and since then also helped to sponsor the Wishes of another child. Both of their Wishes were to go to Walt Disney World (which were the same as Emily's).
Emily's clay angels are unique in that each angel has Emily's fingerprint in it and is specially painted. When you purchase one of her angels think about how you have touched a child's life and helped them to live out their dreams and reach their goals. Please email us so we can let Emily know where her angels have landed.
