This is the final ART on the TOWN event for the season!
Come to Appleton Downtown to enjoy the "mini parks" and artists located throughout Downtown!
PARK(ing) Day is an annual, worldwide event where artists, activists and citizens independently (but simultaneously) turn metered parking spots into "PARK(ing)" spaces: temporary public parks and other spaces for people to enjoy. PARK(ing) Day is intended to promote creativity, civic engagement, critical thinking, unscripted social interactions, generosity and play.
Our featured artist is Monique Powell.
"I was inspired to make fairy gardens by a succulent I purchased at Pick and Save. The succulents reminded me of a little garden that I sat on my desk at work. This plant was therapeutic for me and the more I looked at it, I began to dream of a beautiful fairy garden. Endless ideas and possibilities flooded my mind to the point I decided to buy tons of fairy gardens supplies after work and let my imagination lead the way. I fell love with every fairy garden I've created. But the best part, was bringing people into my world and watching their eyes sparkle when they were able to take home their very own. A fairy garden to me, is more than simple plant. From a person that grew up on the Southside of Chicago, I had to overcome many obstacles to get to where I am today. My fairy gardens are my dream come true. I just want to bring a little bit of happiness into everyone's life with my creations. They're impossible to look at without it bringing a smile to your face. This is my gift to the world."
Don't forget that we will be offering $10 Psychic Readings with Rochelle from 5 - 8 pm on a first-come-first-serve basis.
